Inspiration
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel called on Ernest Beaux to create “a woman’s perfume with a woman’s scent”, rare and powerful. The nose offers a visionary composition calling on an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle favors version number 5 of the fragrance, and decides to keep this number as a simple name. For this new juice, she chose a radical bottle, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon. The unique scent of the perfume, but also its name and its simple bottle, revolutionized the history of perfumery. N°5 stands out as a cult fragrance.
