The design of this Nike Air Vapormax 2020 is a continuation of previous models. The upper is made using a Flyknit weave made from 67% recycled materials, including plastic bottles. The Ortholite comfort insoles have been made from 50% recycling while the tongue is created from 80% recycled foam. The TPU heel overlay contains no less than 60% reused materials while the outsole is part of the “Nike Grind” program also aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its creation. The FlyEase lacing system makes an appearance for easy entry, a first on this pair. The design also changes with the presentation of a new Air unit for the sole, still transparent, and the presence of the Nike Sunburst logo on the insoles.
VaporMax 2020 has joined the Move To Zero program which aims to reduce the Beaverton brand’s carbon footprint. The Flyknit upper, which features a combination of platinum and multicolor tones, is crafted with a minimum of 50% recycled content. We then notice a new mudguard and an unprecedented heel reinforcement, both adorned with a blue “hydro dip” print. Other finishes include a black side swoosh, the addition of FlyEase technology to the rear, as well as a fully translucent TPU sole.
