Composition
The eau de parfum draws its inspiration from the perfume with which it shares its floral-aldehyde signature.
This floral bouquet composed around May rose and jasmine is brightened up by citrus notes. The aldehydes give it a unique presence, and the soft touch of vanilla, an infinitely sensual scent.
Inspiration
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel called on Ernest Beaux to create “a woman’s perfume with a woman’s scent”, rare and powerful. The nose offers a visionary composition calling on an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle favors version number 5 of the fragrance, and decides to keep this number as a simple name. For this new juice, she chose a radical bottle, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon. In 1986, Jacques Polge, nose of CHANEL since 1978, reinterpreted the olfactory score of his predecessor to give rise to a fuller version of N°5: eau de parfum.
